Trampoline Exercises – Making Your Workouts Fun

Adults are quickly learning what children have known for many years, that jumping on a trampoline is fun. But many adults are also starting to realize that trampoline exercises are also a great way to get healthy.

Most people tend to get bored with their exercise routine. That boredom is probably the number one reason most people quit. With a trampoline there is less chance of that happening because they are so much fun. And losing weight while strengthening muscles provides an extra incentive to stick with it.

Here’s why trampoline exercises are so good. First you get a great cardiovascular workout. Much like jogging, you’ll get your heart pumping and you’ll strengthen many of your vital organs. Your metabolism increases, making losing weight that much easier. Plus your blood flow increases. This results in more endurance, and also helps your body get rid of a lot of toxins.

And by consistently jumping you’ll be strengthening your leg muscles. Do you want to target your back muscles? Then just jump while keeping your legs straight. Add in arm motions, like swinging them with every jump, and you’ll help tone your arms as well. If you want increased strength you can add ankle weights or hold lightweight hand weights to increase resistance. But a word of caution, only add the additional weight after you are comfortable with your trampoline exercises.

If you have back problems, you may find a trampoline especially useful. The jumping motion is known to release tension and strain. And unlike running, exercising on a trampoline is low impact. There is no constant pounding on your joints that can cause knee, back or foot pain. And if you’re just getting back into exercise after a leg injury, exercising on a trampoline is a great way to start.

And the great thing is that only your body weight is being used to strengthen and tone your muscles. No additional weight is required.

It’s been proven many times over that exercise is crucial at any age. Senior citizens can benefit from a trampoline as well. Just 20 minutes each day will give you a great workout without straining muscles, bones and joints.

Look, if you spend some time every night watching the television, your favorite movie DVD’s or listening to music, why not do it while jumping on a trampoline? You’ll burn those unwanted calories, give your muscles a great workout, and increase your lung capacity. Simply put, you’ll be more healthy for it.

And you’re workouts will be more fun, meaning it’s more likely you’ll stick with it for a long time.
